Affordable Garden Art Exhibition Showborough House
every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday on public holidays,
Opening hours 10:30 – 16:00
Group visits can be arranged at other times.
There is no admission, but donations are welcome.
There will be sculptures by around 70 sculptors. All sculptures will be for sale and priced under £4000, most under £1000 and some under £100. Exhibitors only contribute a minimal commission to cover the direct costs of the exhibition, so prices are competitive and artists benefit. Most sculptors come from Gloucestershire and surrounding counties, but a few from much further afield. The exhibition is designed to appeal to sculptors at the beginning of their careers, including students, although some established sculptors come and price their work competitively.
There will be a closed exhibition with works by local artists
Tea, coffee and cold drinks as well as biscuits and sometimes cakes are available for a small charge. There are many places for lunch within a few kilometers.
There are some gravel paths and steps so most, but not all, gardens and exhibits are accessible to wheelchair users. There are some potential hazards for small children, such as stairs and ponds, so they should be supervised. Well-behaved dogs on a lead are welcome and there are parking spaces in the shade. Parking is in the adjacent field or in the common grass area.
Please check our How to find us page instead of relying on satellite navigation which usually doesn't work here.
There will be an accompanying exhibition at The Roses Theater in Tewkesbury. This will include works by some of the sculptors exhibiting in the garden. The sculptures will be displayed on the walls of the Cafe Bar, which is open during ticket office opening hours daily during the exhibition. All works will be for sale at the Box Office and the minimum commission will support the work of The Roses, Tewkesbury's community arts charity.
If you want a reminder just before we open, just send an e-mail to[email protected]and I'll put you on our email list.
Economic Garden Art Exhibition 2015
Welcome. We hope you will be happy with the garden and the sculptures. The sculptures are made by sculptors of all levels of experience, from beginners and students to established artists of international recognition. Most, but not all, are from Gloucestershire and surrounding counties. If you have any questions, Andrew or one of the sculptors will be here anytime.
Vote for your favorite patio tub sculpture.
Don't have a picnic in the garden. You can use the car park.
Dogs on a leash are welcome unless they disturb the cat.
Normal garden hazards apply. There are steps, ponds, trip hazards, prickly pear treesplanterand of course heavy and fragile sculptures.
If you enjoy your visit, make a donation to one of the boxes. We are supporting the Royal British Legion again this year, but in response to requests from visitors last year we also have a donation box in this garden to help us maintain the display and open garden for years to come.

Showborough House hosts the Affordable Garden Art Competition and Exhibition this spring. A wide range of good but affordable sculptures, mostly by local or up-and-coming sculptors, can be seen in the natural setting of the one and a half hectare garden, which has been renovated over the past five years. There are works in a variety of sizes, styles and media, including wood, metal, stone, glass, ceramic and resin. The Showborough is an informal space where visitors are encouraged to enjoy the exhibits and gardens at their own pace and perhaps sit and relax with a cup of tea or coffee.
The exhibitions are for sale and as Showborough House is a not-for-profit business, any purchase gives maximum support to the artists.
It features works by over sixty sculptors in stone, metal, ceramics, glass and other materials, all displayed in the attractive garden. There is an indoor exhibition featuring works by local guest artists and refreshments are available.
The exhibition is open Thursday to Sunday and Monday holidays from 10:30 to 16:00.
